Dr. Oz Show newsletter features article endorsing plant sterols

In a recent newsletter promoting his TV show, Dr. Oz featured an article on the 3 Steps to Controlling Cholesterol Naturally. In this article, author Neal D. Barnard, MD, president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine in Washington, DC, asks: “Instead of butter or margarine, why not choose a spread that blocks the absorption of cholesterol?” He goes on to explain that natural plant sterols have a “cholesterol-lowering effect.”
